9 January 2023
In 2012, we started a bit of a tradition here on the webinar. We closed off that year with a review of our favourite books that we read in the previous 12 months. Both Peter and I picked our top three books, and shared why we picked them and what we valued about them.
And so, the “Taking a Read on…” series was born. We’ve wrapped up each year since, with a tribute to our favourite tomes.
A decade further on, we are doing so one last time. In Peter’s final webinar as a regular host of the Technobility webinar series, we’ll be checking out with a check in on our favourite books of 2022. We’ll also be doing a recap of our favourites from the entire series.
As always, the rules are simple (which doesn’t mean that they don’t get messed with occasionally). Peter and I each pick three books that we read and most enjoyed in the previous 12 months. They may be recently published, and they may be classics that we have revisited. Mostly, they do tend to at least be actual books.
We don’t consult with each other on what we are choosing in advance, and don’t usually know until the day of the webinar what the other will be talking about. We’ve never both picked the same book. There has always been some connecting thread that ties together what we have chosen.
If you’re an avid reader, an enthusiastic fan of the webinar series, or you would just like to wish Peter a fond adieu, be sure to join us for our final wrap-up of our favourite finds. You may well find some new reads to dive into and distract yourself as we put 2022 firmly in the rear view mirror.
As always, spread the word to those who might be interested in this webinar. You’re welcome to point entire associations, companies and small countries to these links. You would be doing us a favour if you did pass this on.
