Webinar – We Have Nothing To Fear But…

It’s not something we like to talk about, especially when we’re discussing organizational culture, but FEAR—of all shapes, sizes and sources—exists in the world, as well as hallowed halls of cubicles.

Given that it does exist (we have far too many examples of it to deny), what should we do about it, if anything?

On one hand, it is incorrect to state that all ‘fear’ is a bad thing. Fear is an early warning signal that there is danger ahead (maybe). Without it, we would make at least one too many fatal mistakes. At some level fear is a good thing.

On the other hand, there’s that ‘maybe’ in parenthesis to consider. Not everything we fear is truly harmful. Much of what we fear and worry about is a  waste of energy, attention and time – not to mention that ‘fear’ is the root cause of most lost opportunities.

And then, unfortunately, there’s the third hand. Sometimes it’s not the ‘fear’ that’s the problem, but that something exists in the organization that demands our ‘fear’… or else.

This presentation will cover the topic of organizational fear, and primarily from the perspective of its impact on productivity.

And, given Peter’s tendency to focus most of his grey matter on the topic of change, don’t be too surprised if the ‘Fear of Change’ topic is also discussed a few times.

Join us. And if you wish, send us an example of fear in your organization—we will of course protect your identity from the goblins, real and imagined.

As always, spread the word to those who might be interested in this webinar. You’re welcome to point entire associations, companies and small countries to these links. You would be doing us a favour if you did pass this note around a little bit.

This webinar series is a de Jager & Co and Interthink Consulting production.
